A Return To Numero Uno

I just love being number one! Tonight I became the very FIRST person to mark their territory for the 2010 Rose Parade. The last time I was first was in 2006. The last couple of years have resulted in a series of mishaps, 2007 it was totally forgotten amidst my PG headaches, 2008 I was expecting a relatively small crowd and didn't prioritize but 2009 required I make sure that our spot is marked!

I usually mark a big spot and then split in half with Becca's initials on half and mine on the other half (That way I don't look greedy) but since this year we are going to have east coast visitors (and first time Tournament of Roses Parade viewers) I decided to properly welcome them.

We Must Name This Child!

We have no name for her. I am frustrated, this task should not be that hard. It was so easy last time, hopefully this doesn't mean that everything about her will be harder. Good news, the pregnancy has been easier. Back to her name. I have started calling her by a different name everytime I talk about her. Just a couple of minutes I commented on a blog and reffered to her by one of the options. I wonder if Jenn will think we actually picked a name when she reads it.

James came up with Camia the other day since it was a combo of Cannon and Mia. I actually liked it and and then Mom yelled it out loud. Yeah, that will never work. Can't you just picture Sydney "Camia", "Camia", "Camia" at the top of her lungs. Nice.

So please all, I am open for suggestions.......

Notes From Dinner On The Central Coast

We ate dinner at AJ Spurs (1) Such a great group of guys (2) I ended up in jail (3) Six of us chose a root beer float for our desert (4) One lonely person chose a lonely little ice cream with chocolate on top (5) Glenn dips ribeye steak in ketchup.....seriously. (6) Meal was fantastic. (7) Company was better (8) Sometimes I should close my ears (9) I could win a trivia game about New Orleans if the questions were:

(1) What is the place that had the huricane Katrina? A: New Orleans
(2) What is that drink they all have there? A: Huricanes
(3) Whats the name of that famous festival they have there? A: Marti Gras
(4) What state is it in? A: Louisianna
(5) What is that famous street called? A: Bourbon Street

So glad I didn't disapoint you, Glenn :)

My Hotel Balcony

Real estate is clearly hard to come by at the Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo. See below: This is the amount of room available on the balcony in my hotel room. Fitting just my shoe (not even my stomach these days) this balcony is extremely non-functional. It may only be beat by those hotel rooms that have a balcony but you can only open up the door 4 inches.

Welcome To Moose Flats

Ya'll know I have been farming. What you don't know is that I have also been cooking in Cafe World. So I roped a couple of people into the Cafe one of whom was my mother. The default name of your cafe is "Kim's Cafe" or "Carol's Cafe", I have not changed mine but Mom has.....

Mom (a lover of Moose) has renamed her Cafe to "Moose Flats". She has modified her cafe to include two moose heads and has modern lodge-type decor. I have no doubt that this Cafe is located in Jackson Hole Wy or Grand Teton National Park.

The Stroller Tram

Last month Mom and I took the kids to Disneyland for Rachel's birthday. While waiting for the tram we realized that due to construction the tram was not loading like it normally did and because that those with strollers were having to wait forever.

I mentioned this to the tram worker and then mom started to complain a bit and the guy was like "look, I'll get you on the next one for sure". Well, he kept his commitment, not sure how happy everyone else was though.

As Seen In Ontario Intl Airport Bathroom

I saw three of these signs in the bathroom at Ontario airport. On each one someone had decided that the CDC instructions weren't enough and they wrote in "Wash for at least 20 seconds" RO! I can't believe someone took the time to write in their two cents. I decided that I should continue to spread the news and so here you go blog readers:

Nevada Hair

Before I even get started let me say that some of the most beautiful chicks (with good hair too) I know live in Nevada but I thought this was hysterical.

My conversation at 7am Thursday morning with Queen B (over text):

Kim: I have terrible hair today
Queen B: I had high hopes for mine today
Kim: LOL
Queen B: Didn't measure up though
Kim: Mine is truly terrible and the worst part is I am on my way to Reno
Queen B: It's ok, there are no expectations of good hair in Nevada

What's Changed In 784 Days?

The last time I was in Reno was 784 days ago, August 22, 2007 to be exact. There were many changes that I observed during my visit today. FSO has a new office, the technology kiosk in the airport has been updated as the Best Buy Express kiosk, the bathroom cupboard has been restocked with lots of girly items (Love that bathroom!) and Tricia actually has an office! Yeah!

The most notable change was in the airport. The Christmas trees have finally been replaced with a campfire area. The backdrop is now a beautiful summer scene. I wonder if the backdrop will change for winter? I hope so, I sort of missed the trees :(

Great trip to Reno! Wonderful seeing everybody and being in Reno just puts me in an all around good mood! My promise is public and realistic, make it back in less than 364 days.

The Zoo Lego Set

Elizabeth received this lego set from my parents for her birthday. While playing with it I observed that there is legos for food (Note the raw meat being eating by the tiger in the top left)

As I made this observation one of the guests at the party commented "Well they have to meat otherwise they'll eat the children" LOL

A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we took a trip to Oak Glen (for Apples) and then the Pumpkin Patch in Redlands. We had a great time and I would suggest this for anyone in Southern California. Both the kids and the adults had a blast!

New Bathroom Photo

As most of you know, I have a fairly healthy collection of public bathroom photos. Still, the collection additions have somewhat tapered off lately. I was in this bathroom today and just had to take a picture of the soap dispenser.

Just to be clear that is mold all around the inside of the dispenser and yes the dispenser is sitting inside a very rusty can.

Super Busy Day

Shopping.....Visiting Kim and Micah.....Jenn's Southern California Shower.....Joshua and Elizabeth's birthday party. It was a long day but a good one!

Flashback Friday (36)

Wednesday Night In Phoenix

My evening started out at Coronado Cafe with Diane. I have only been here a handful times but the food is great and the atmosphere is even better. We had a great meal and conversation and she had me at the hotel by 7:00PM.

I walked into the hotel and saw a sign "Welcome Hilton Honors Guests, our guest of the day is Kimberly T" Nice! What a great surprise. The guest of the day receives a sign in the lobby (love that), an Arizona Iced Tea, Arizona chocolate bar, Arizona salsa and a bag of Doritos. Too Cool!

I went to the room and began catching up on some work. I was reading some email and having a BBM conversation with Sara when I got my second surprise. Four of my favorite people showed up at the hotel for a visit. They stayed and chatted for a little awhile and then headed home. I got a great break and then went back to doing some work, a little farming and watched some Nancy Grace. (Never watched her before she is such a b....)
