A Night On The Town With The Girls

Against all good judgement we took the girls out for a nice meal tonight. We went to Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab and the food was really good. Shockingly, the girls ate their food, (Sydney with the Chicken Tenders and Brooke with the Mac N Cheese) and were great throughout the whole meal. I had the Rib Eye and David had the Surf N Turf-it was a great meal and a great family night.

Day Two Chicago-Wrigley Field

If I had a bucket list, Wrigley Field and a Chicago Cubs game would have been on it. This is one I can now cross off. I can't say that it met all expectations since it was so stinking hot we didn't make it that far in the game-Brooke was really whining and Sydney was doing her part as well. Nonetheless, the stadium was awesome, the Cubs won and I got a new Cubs hat. 

This was also the girls very first baseball game-pretty cool that it was in this awesome location! Go Cubs!

Remote Control In Our Room

Both remote controls have no channels visible except for 5. Kind of weird, wondering if it's a social experiment.

Day Two Chicago-The Morning

This morning we headed to the John Hancock Observatory and enjoyed beautiful weather and views of the city there. If I had to compare to Willis Tower I would definitely say it is better but we enjoyed this view as well and I am glad we did it. The Hancock Towers boast the quickest elevators in the world (I think the world) and it took us 40 seconds to go the 90+ floors. 

After the Hancock Observatory we wandered around the Magnificent Mile, through the American girl (that's another blog), Disney store (How could we not go?) and a few other stores as well as an Old Church and the Water Tower.

Museum of Science and Industry-awesome!!!!

The last thing we did at the museum of Science and Industry was take some pictures in front of it before jumping in a cab and heading back to the hotel. About 30 minutes after getting back to the room I couldn't find the camera. Current status is as follows:

Towel Storage At The Cove

I need some ideas for towel storage. This weekend I pulled all of the towels off the gate and the fence, gave them a good washing and then stuck them here. This is not the solution.

Becca's Phone Games

I have often commented to Becca how I don't understand how she has time to play games on her phone. (FYI-She is really good at them and frequently has the high score in a few different games). After observing her playing I now know why she has time-the kids are completely entertained by watching her play. They sit there quietly and just watch her play-it cracked me up and made me think that I need to go back to playing Farmville (and/or others) :)

Lastly, watching her also reminded me of my Grandma who used to watch me play Tetris on the computer. She would watch me play late at night and she could watch for a couple of hours at a time. I bet Grandma would really have liked to watch Becca play Temple Run......

Sydney Is Ready For Vacation

A couple of days before we went on vacation Sydney went into her room and started packing. Every item with wheels was put in a line and ready to go for our trip. (I just realized this one never made the blog)

Old Vs New

I remember when they built the gym at San Gabriel Christian School and they installed the chilled drinking fountain inside. Being the first one to the "cold drinking fountain" was so awesome! I was reminded of this today at church when Sydney first stopped at the drinking fountain outside and then stopped again at the "cold water" inside.

Saturday Night Girl Time

Tonight Sydney wandered out of her room about 1/2 hour after the girls went to bed and found her way outside. After some chatting about our upcoming trip to Chicago we cuddled for awhile before I hopped into in the jacuzzi and David took Sydney off to bed.

Loving Shadows

Sydney is going through a phase right now where she is always spotting shadows. She loves playing in the family room in the morning, seeing her shadow and creating shadows. The other day, she got Brooke involved, she looked like a little monster-LOL

Surprise Airport Visit

Last week the girls and I surprised David at the airport. He loved seeing the kids faces as they went running towards him. The kids loved watching the planes come in (we watched for an hour before he arrived and and about 1/2 hour after). I think the highlight was that dad arrived on the Shamu plane.
