Packing For The Beach (By Sydney)

Vacation Day One

It started with five of my favorites:

SLT, BFF, CEM, Disneyland, and Starbucks (this is an SMR)

In the middle we finished packing Ravey and saying goodbye to the dads. (Sydney and Brooke were really torn up today over leaving David)

And the end was the longest drive ever to Vegas (over 8 hours). We are now looking at a stop in Mesquite-no way we are going to make St George tonight.

Overall though, great day!

Belated Congratulations (On The Blog)

Keith and Libby had a great wedding reception at the Pasadena University Club. The theme was baseball (Dodgers) and it couldn't have been better done. The food was outstanding, conversation great and the couple was happy. Couldn't ask for anything more. Congratulations, guys!!!!

The Stetson Chopped Salad

I may have shared this before but I just can't tell you how much I like this salad from Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale. I have never been to that location but last year they opened one on the US Airways side of terminal 4. It's a trek to get there from the Southwest side but worth every bit of the distance. I go whenever I arrive early (or there is a delay) for my flight.

Sydney Learns To Text Her Mom

Two days ago I showed Sydney how to send an iMessage to me from the iPad. Yesterday at 4:32 and during a meeting I received the message below. 

Smiling I showed the message to Tyler (seated next to me) and then when the group wanted in on it I shared her message. I love this kiddo so much and that message made my day.

3rd Year of Blue Crabs

We celebrated Fathers Day tonight with The traditional Blue crabs. Dessert was chocolate covered bannanas.

After Work Catch Up

Sydney's Kindergarten Graduation

Sydney graduated from kindergarten and we are so proud of our little girl. There have been so many blessings this year and at the top of the list would be her and Liz getting to go to school together and being in the same class. They have done so well and I am so proud of them both. Other blessings include a wonderful teacher and great friends! I was so worried about how she would adjust to school and she just did great! She has grown so much this year and has blossomed at school and at home. I love you, Sydney!!!

No More Mudpie

I ended our busy weekend by going to Claimjumper with a few friends. The biggest controversy of the night was our discovery that Claimjumper discontinued their mudpie in March of this year. Quite disappointing and Caroline made sure the manager knew. 

Pre-Kindergarten Graduation Celebration

On Sunday Grandma took us to a tea for the girls graduation. It was fun and the food was good. Sydney barely ate anything but her and Liz drank two tea pots worth of lemonade. It was a nice afternoon out.

    

LA's Grand Market

We finally made it to the Grand Market on Saturday morning and it was cool. We grabbed some hash at Berlin Currywurst and it tasted really good. I also took a Currywurst to dad. 

Dinner At Duke's

The girls had a slumber party at Becca's on Friday so we took advantage of a kidless night and headed to Duke's in Malibu. I ordered the Opa and it was amazing, we finished the dinner off with the Hula Pie and it was delicious!

Finally I Got Global Entry

I couldn't escape the computer problems though.

Crazy Name Day

Yesterday was crazy name day at Sydney's school. Sydney went as Silvermist and Liz was Tinkerbell. I have no idea why this was the name I got on my cup at Starbucks.
