Catching Up On Easter

We had a great Easter that included church, two Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets, candy and family.

The Year Of The___________

For the last couple of years Jane has made a declaration that it is the year of the ______ (Fill in whatever word describes your area of focus for the year or something significant). On Friday night when we bought our Season Passes to Knotts Berry Farm I decided that this should be "The year of the Theme Parks" for the Thomas Family.

We are Disneyland Annual Pass holders
We have been to Walt Disney World
We have Knotts Berry Farm Season Passes
We have a return trip to Disney World planned for December

I guess we'll need to figure a way to get to Raging Waters, Universal Studios and Lego Land to make the year complete.

(If the year of the theme parks could be 13 months and not calendar say we called it our Theme Park year and started it in November we could include a stay at Paradise Pier for the girls beach trip and Club 33 for the birthday visit.

Easter Prep 2014 :)

Mom's Last Night At Ernie Jr's

It looked like she went to the grocery store....it was actually enchilada's she was planning on freezing. RO!

Goodbye Ernie Jr's

Last week Rachel alerted us that Ernie Jr's was closing. Ernie Jr's is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant, it's been around since 1944 and it is the place I take all non-Southern California folks for real Mexican food.
We went there twice this week and had the usual-cheese enchilada (I have never had one that comes close to Ernie Jr's) and beef taco. Our last two trips didn't disapoint and tonight Ernie Jr's closed it's doors for good. :(

The First Drive To Grandma's

The girls have been wanting to drive the Princess car to Grandma's since the day it arrived. I finally decided that it was time last weekend. They did pretty good the entire why and insisted they pull in the driveway like a normal car when they got there.

It's Open!

Today the Alex G. Spanos Heart and Vascular Center opened at Mercy General in Sacramento. It was obvious that the teams had worked very hard to ensure a successful opening. Well done everyone!

Too bad I didn't check the Disneyland blackout calendar before going :(

El Tepeyac

Sunday night we decided to hit an LA favorite in Boyle Heights- I haven't been there in years but I remember when I was kid dad used to bring home "Manuel's" The biggest burritos ever and cool place for dinner.

"Mommy the people are fake!"

The day before their birthday parties Brooke told Sydney that the Disney characters were just in the movie wand they weren't real. Sydney insisted she was wrong and that she had seen them many times at Disneyland. I couldn't believe that my 4 year old had made this declaration.

Fast forward seven days and before the Aladdin show at Hyperian Theatre tonight Brooke was lamenting about how the characters were fake. Once inside, right before the show started she used her hand to turn my face towards hers and said: "Mom, the people are fake-they are just like you but they change their clothes in the back" I asked her how she heard this and she exclaimed "Mom, I just know".

Didn't expect this at 4.

The Frozen Party

The girls had their "Frozen" movie party today and absolutely loved it! It started with watching the movie and ended with a visit from Queen Elsa. During the movie we had a theater style snack bar that Joshua volunteered to run-kids ordered and paid with their tickets. He took the job very seriously and when necessary would even announce "Snack Bar is closed, I have to go to the bathroom". His written rules were awesome-I liked number the most, it was "Call me Joshua and call him Joncee". The decorations were all handmade by Sydney and Brooke and I loved them. The drawing by Brooke of Sydney and all her friends was my favorite.

Sydney 100% loved Queen Elsa's arrival (as depicted below-she smiled like this the entire time) Queen Elsa did a Magic show and face painting (Sydney doesn't like face painting so she just watched this) before a final game and singing happy birthday to the girls. It was really fun and worth every penny-highly recommended.
