Florida Trip Recap: Day 2 WDW

The day started off with a visit to Animal Kingdom lodge. It was pretty impressive but we agreed we liked Wilderness Lodge better. The DVC area was cool since it overlooked an animal area. After breakfast at Boma we checked out the hotel and the pool areas. The kids played at a little park before we headed to Winter Summerland Miniature golf. There were two courses, one was summer and one was winter and the premise is that Florida was hit was a freak snowstorm. On the winter side they played Christmas music and the summer side was full of Beach boys. It was fun-the girls had a blast. After miniature golf we headed back to the hotel where we met Rachel and the kids. We hung out the rest of the day at the pools at the Carribbean Beach resort. We all went down the waterslide (even Grandma) and we had alot of fun. We ate dinner there and then Rachel and the kids left. We headed to the Beach Club to check it out and have dessert.

WDW Dining: BOMA

"Boma is an African term for a fence made of sticks that forms a safe enclosure in Africa. The theming of this restaurant was great and we all enjoyed the breakfast buffet. All the food was great but our favorites were probably the African hash and the French toast bread pudding with Pecan Praline sauce-Super good!

Brooke made a "T" for Thomas with her sausage

Sydney got a birthday surprise

Sydney's plate....after she was done the salami and donut were gone and everything else was still there.

WDW Dining: Artist Point

Our first Disney World restaurant of the trip was Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This four star restaurant is only open for 4 hours a day and I booked it for dessert only. Once we got there Sydney and Brooke decided they wanted MacNCheese so we had two orders of that before ordering our desserts. The girls got the Mickey Artist Puzzle which was a white chocolate puzzle that they had to put together and then paint with frosting. A great birthday dessert! Mom and I split the Artist Point Cobbler with berries and black raspberry ice cream. I had read about this in advance and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Florida Trip Recap: Day 1 WDW

After leaving Tampa we headed to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort where we checked into our Pirate Room. Our Pirate Room was located in Trinidad South and I had been worried that it was way too far from the main guest area but it turned out it was just fine. The girls loved the room and I would recommend it especially if your kids loved pirates.

After check in and a quick dinner we headed over to the Wilderness Lodge. While we knew it was based on Old Faithful Inn we were impressed by the similarities. After looking at the inside we headed outside and the girls played in the sand on the beach. They had a great time digging in the sand. We watched the smaller version of Old Faithful and then checked out the pool area before heading to Artist Point for dessert.

Of all the hotels we would take a look at we all liked Wilderness Lodge the most.
