Why I Should Not Defend Laura's Honor Again

Tonight, I log into Facebook and see that Amy has done an online caricature of Laura. Laura's pic was so good before that I decided to leave a comment on the defamed portrait. I leave the following comment "I don't think I like-lol"



Being one that would never disappoint. Amy's response was this lovely shot of me.

Mine definitely was the worst. Look at the fat ugly terrible face! Ugh!

And to ensure she wasn't left out, she submitted one of her own......Geez, I can't wait to meet her!!!!! So flipping funny!

P.S. And even with eyes that are almost vertical and a mouth that looks like a major snarl, Laura looks the prettiest.

25 Minutes to Complete 7 Kids Puzzles

While picking Sydney up today from Grandma's, James, Mom and I heard a crash in the other room. We went into the playroom to discover that Sydney had knocked all the puzzles out of the puzzle container.

Mom and James thought it would be funny to see how long it would take me to put the puzzles back together. Ultimately it took me 25 minutes to put 7 children's puzzles together.

I didn't think this would start until at least 4 or 5.

Whipped Egg Whites

Last night Laura and I decided that we would do whipped egg whites in our hair (A Laura beauty trick) and have curly hair for Jenn's Arizona shower. I thought she had done this several times but she said this is only the 4th or 5th time. (Geez, I look short) Here are the tools and the outcome:

Before The Blog-What Not To Wear

There are so many things about this post that could get me in trouble. I have stolen Laura's computer and her pictures in order to write this blog. I have taken her "Before the Blog" logo and am about to embarrass her. Seriously, how did she put this outfit together? One must wonder if she dressed in the dark. She also doesn't look very happy with her 9th grade perm.

Before posting I did actually consider the following for the first time: Would this person feel our relationship affords them a wider boundary of what isn't blog-material, and is this inside or outside that boundary?" I have determined confidently that Jane will be amused and not worried about any boundaries.

BTW: Who knew that Tami actually descretely started the WNTW collection in 1985?

She Loves The Swing

Lean Cuisine Mac & Cheese

The other day I dressed up Lean Cuisine Mac & Cheese and made a great lunch out of it. Here's what I did:

1. Cook the Mac & Cheese in the Microwave per the box instructions.

2. Throw a handful of grape tomatoes into a pan with a little bit of water. Cook until the tomatoes are warm and have softened. (a couple of minutes)

3. Add some already cooked diced chicken

4. Use a small blender or chopper (I used the Magic Bullet) and chop up some croutons to use for a breadcrumb topping.

5. Mix the Mac & Cheese, Tomatoes and chicken together.

6. Top the Mac & Cheese with the crouton breadcrumb mixture, some chopped Italian parsley and add salt/pepper.

New Poll: Andrew or James?

I walked up to Andrew yesterday at the wedding and said "Next time, you shouldn't get so dressed up". This comment spawned a conversation over who was more dressed up, Andrew in jeans and a long sleeve shirt or James in khaki shorts and short sleeves. Both thought they were the most dressed up. Now it's time for you to decide. I think they both look pretty darn good!

Posted Placards Being Tampered With?

Well, less than two weeks after I first noticed the Southwest sticker logo covering the old posted placard I discovered that people are already tampering with the sticker...big shock.

I Will Not Have A Picky Eater

I swore that I would not have a picky eater, maybe that was mistake number one. This child (otherwise known as Sydney) is the worst eater of all times. She pretty much likes everything...at least at one time or another but she only eats what she wants at the time.

Today after eating hashbrowns for breakfast, a sucker on the way home from Disneyland and one Carl's Jr Chicken Star for lunch, at 5:30 she refused the following for dinner:

Grapes
Chicken
Mashed Potatoes
Dried Fruit Snacks
Lemon Cake
Macaroni and Cheese

At 8:00 she saw some grapes on the counter and decided that she was hungry. She ate about 15 grapes and was done. What do I do?

1938 Door Knobs

1938 door knobs are old, 71 years old to be exact. Sydney learned the hard way that 1938 door knobs don't allow for any outside access if they are locked. Tonight, she locked herself in our bedroom. David had just run to the store so I called him and he was home in a couple of minutes.

Unfortunately there was no way we were getting in from the door unless he broke it down. He was going to do that but she was standing right in front of it crying her little eyes out. So option two was the window, David got the ladder and ended up getting through the window (without breaking it).

But the poor little girl was so traumatized (as was her mom) that she just hung out on my lap for quite a while.
