Watching History With Dad

The shuttle Atlantis took off on Sunday morning for NASA's last space shuttle launching. Sydney wanted to watch it over and over.

Krueger Green Thumb

This giant zucchini is courtesy of Becca's in-laws. Look at it compared to the spoon! We went for a Mediterranean dinner tonight and these zucchini perfectly finished off the kabobs. Thanks!

The Camera Is Incredible

I have had my Incredible Droid for about 30 hours and it is awesome! Ever since I switched from Pearl to Droid I have had nothing but problems with the cell phone camera. Every moving shot of Sydney was terribly blurry and it took so long for pictures to take that I consistently missed the shot. Discrete photography was ruined and I barely got any good shots of the kids. (Note the first two pics below)

Not a problem with the Incredible. The camera is actually faster than my Canon Powershot (seriously) and has more mega pixels. Note the photos below. Sydney was completely moving in the Bobs Big Boy shot. Best camera phone that I have ever seen, it's incredible.

Rachel's Shower: Dessert #2

Three years ago I received this Martha Stewart Baking Book and I vowed that I would make that cake for Rachel's Baby Shower. Well, I did it. Mine looked great but it ended up leaning. Next time I will take a little more time so it ends up straight.

Two Year Old Injuries

The other day Elizabeth showed me her Boo Boos. One was covered by Scooby Doo, one was covered by Disney Princess and the last one was covered by Buzz Lightyear. I was disappointed there was no bacon or caution tape represented on her legs.

The Libero-----The What?-----The Libero

I went to James' last volleyball game last week and he was playing libero. What in the heck is that? When I was in high school, there was no libero but in 1999 it was determined that a libero needed to be added to the sport. Frankly I think the name and the position is dumb (sorry James) and I the rules are confusing. The libero position can replace any player in the back row at any time the ball is dead and it appears the libero is some back row specialist. According to the rules the libero can't serve the ball but James served so I don't really get that. The libero also wears a different color uniform than everyone else and there is significant "special tracking" of the position during the game.

I think my favorite rule was this one: A player may not complete an attack hit from higher than the top of the net, if a ball is coming from an overhead finger pass from a libero in the front zone or it's extension.......Um, OK.

Price Club and Burbank Airport

In 1997 Price Club changed it's name to Costco. I continued to call it Price Club until sometime in 2007. Burbank airport changed it's name to Bob Hope airport in 2003. I still call it Burbank and I don't plan on changing to Bob Hope any time soon. By the way: Orange County airport was changed to John Wayne airport in 1979. I call it John Wayne airport :)

"Oh, Sydney"

The disappointed but not angry words from me to Sydney is "Oh, Sydney". I discovered that I was saying this quite a bit when Sydney started saying it. If she does something that is not good and wants to bring it to my attention she comes to me and says "Oh, Sydney". It cracks me up. This morning I was on my way to drop the girls off at moms and then heading to the airport for a Phoenix trip and I hear from the backseat. "Oh, Sydney" When I turn around I see the following and then I simply say "Oh, Sydney".
