Dell Opens Silicon Valley R&D Center

Today I was given the opportunity to go to the Dell WISE (Women in Search of Excellence) West kickoff in Santa Clara. The kickoff was coordinated with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Dell's new R&D facility (Even the govenor was there). I had the chance to meet Michael Dell, Karen Quintos (CMO), and network with several Dell leaders. Dell opens Silicon Valley Research and Development Center. Good Times!

Dinner At Chilis

We had an impromptu dinner last night with Rachel and Nathan. I couldn't get over how much Natham and Brooke enjoyed each other-they were all about playing and sharing (Brooke shared her food). To top it off we had the best waiter in the place (James) who surprised me with Chilis new spicy grilled shrimp tacos. BTW: My last three trips to a restaurant included the waiter ordering for me.

Halloween Baking At The Thomas House

We baked cupcakes today and the kids took turns decorating them. Cupcakes were made specifically for Nathan, Grandma, Uncle James and Daddy. Brooke also got to have her first experience licking the bowl-she was a fan.

SGVMC IT Annual Fall Dinner

Each fall there are several of us that get together for dinner and "catch-up" on what is going on in each others lives. I have attended (time permitting) for the last 5 or so years and we have a great time. This year we went to Granville Cafe at the Americana, the food was great, and company was outstanding.

Halloween Time At Disneyland

Tonight we headed to Disneyland to partake in their after hours "Halloween Time". Two parades, a few rides, dinner and lots of candy later, we are home. Brooke loved the second parade but was pretty much indifferent to to the first.
Sydney loved both parades and was very proud of her "beautiful Rapunzel dress" and was doing lots of twirling.

P.S. I have always wanted a Sundae but never had ice cream from the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on main street. Everytime I have walked in to get it I have been unwilling to stand in the *just as long as Space Mountain* line but tonight I got lucky and indulged in the Mint Chip Ice Cream Sundae-Super Good.

This Weekend We Were All About Halloween

Martha Stewart helped us out with the wine labels and spiders. Brooke is fascinated with the spiders and they both love the giant spiderweb on the front porch.

Ice Cream Date With My First Born

Knowing I was going out of town tonight I decided to get some one-on-one time with Sydney today. We were a little bummed that Baskin Robbins didn't have their little animal sundaes going but she settled in fine by selecting the Vanilla clown (or as Sydney would say Bawewa)

Micah's Version Of A Recliner

He wouldn't eat (He is a boy version of Sydney) but he could chill out in his highchair and watch Toy Story 3 (Did I mention he is a boy version of Sydney?)

My Friday Night Date With James

Last night James took me to see "I Love Lucy, Live On Stage". Being avid Lucy fans we had a great time watching the reenactment of two of the original episodes. It was an awesome date with my brother that started with a trip to the Grove for dinner at The Farm of Beverly Hills. I had the three way Ahi Salad and James had the Dill Pickle Fried Chicken-we shared them and both meals were quite good. If I went back I would definitely consider having the Ahi salad again but if I had a hot meal I would try something different.

After dinner we headed off to I Love Lucy which included all things you would have seen if you were at an original recording. We enjoyed the 1950's commercials which were on Alka Seltzer, Chevrolet and Cold Cream. The characters did an outstanding job but overall I though Ricki was the best.

Post play we headed to West Hollywood to get a Milk Shake at Millions of Milkshakes. I had the "Judge Alex" which was bananas, peanut butter and chocolate, I can't remember the name of the one I brought David but it had bananas, peanut butter, chocolate and Nutella. James had the "Dorothy Lucey" and it included Oreo's, KitKats (I think), Chocolate and Peanut Butter. All were very very good.

All in all, it was so great hanging out with James and it was super fun. Thanks David for watching the girls!

Quiznos Signage

Total Hazard! Two days ago I noticed the small sign in the distance and it is located exactly where you need to look to see if cars are coming. Completely blocks the view then yesterday they decided to add this giant flag further disrupting my view of oncoming traffic.

The Pasadena PD needs to do something about this.

Can You Direct Me To The Scrapbooking Section?

When we were on vacation in Jackson Hole I went into the "Gifts of the Earth" store because I knew they had Wyoming specific sprapbooking supplies. I wandered around the realitively small store for 20 minutes getting frustrated before asking the saleswoman, "Where are the scrapbooking supplies", she pointed in the direction right near the registers. It was then I looked up and saw a sign with an arrow, then I noticed another sign with another arrow, then two more signs. Great signage and oblivious customers.
