Last night, David and I decided to go register for baby stuff at Babies R Us. I registered online and then we went to the store to actually make most of our selections. One of the most overwhelming experiences of my life. We ended up walking around with the little gun for an hour and didn't scan anything.
This morning, Becca offered to go back with me. So Mom, Becca, Elizabeth and I went off to Babies R Us. They were both so helpful and this time it was not overwhelming at all. I have now registered for most of the small items and David is doing some research on the big stuff. Lastly, after careful consideration I think we are going to do a lady bug theme for the nursery. P.S. There are a million Kim Thomas' in the registry. I am not fishing for gifts but as a note do not accidentally send a gift to Kim and David Thomas in Elk Grove, CA.
After successfully tackling Babies R Us I decided to try Target. Compared to Babies R Us, Target was a piece of cake although I am not registered for nearly as much stuff there. I found that Target has alot of stuff online but very little in the store. I didn't like that since believe it or not I am not a huge online shopper. (It's True)
Other updates:
*Almost 23 weeks
*Fewer and Less Severe Headaches
*Belly getting bigger
*She likes (or doesn't like) flying. Kicks almost the entire time we are on the plane

Pregnancies that start at 23 weeks go a lot quicker than those that start earlier. Congrats on the registration nightmare overcome.
Dont waste to much money on junk that you will be giving away. Spend the money on a good stroller, wipe warmer, and ear plugs for your husband so he can sleep. Also a good garbage can that can that eliminates the stinky diaper smell. Stock up on Diapers 8-15 diapers a day is normal.
Sammy just went thru the 'getting registered nightmare', too. It's very overwhelming. Since she's in Virginia, I spent quite a while on the phone talking her through it.
LOL. I was in Babies R Us one day with my parents, picking up a gift for a friend. When we left the store, my dad says, "I have great confidence in the survival of the human race considering how much stuff is available for the next generations." That place is crazy, and best tackled with people who have been through first time mommyhood before, I would think.
That's great that you got it done Kim! I can only imagine how overwhelming it is, so that's awesome that you had your mom and sister who knew the drill there to help you! Glad the headaches are going away for you!!!
so cute! I am going to look at your registry right now. Love you!
I can relate to your registering story. My biggest piece of advice is spend the money on the stoller you REALLY want. It will be cheaper than what I did. I seriously spent over $2000 on stollers because I just couldn't justify spending so much on one. Now I have over 5 stollers and wish I had just bought the top of the line the first time! If you want a recommendation I would be happy to give you the name of the one you REALLY want.
I love the lady bug idea. SO cute! After having a boy, I HAD to go with pink. (in my head at least)
It sounds like you are on your way to being "ready" for baby girl.
I just looked at the Babies R Us registry, lady bug theme is adorable!
Just make sure your water doesn't break premature due to the air pressure.
P.S. Please don't waste time and money on a stupid diaper genie. They are not that good, and when you do change it the smell that you thought you were hiding is released. It will make even your neighbors puke. Also be careful about stocking on too many diapers size 2 and under. Seriously, babies gain so much in the beginning and they go to a size 3 so quickly. Ok, I could go on forever. Sorry.
YAY - guess I will be looking at the Kim1Bump registry instead of working/blogging right now :)
I'm so naming Ruth Anne the expert!!!
So Kim, is the date 4/3/08 or 4/2/08? Babies R Us has one date and Target has the other??
