1938 Door Knobs

1938 door knobs are old, 71 years old to be exact. Sydney learned the hard way that 1938 door knobs don't allow for any outside access if they are locked. Tonight, she locked herself in our bedroom. David had just run to the store so I called him and he was home in a couple of minutes.

Unfortunately there was no way we were getting in from the door unless he broke it down. He was going to do that but she was standing right in front of it crying her little eyes out. So option two was the window, David got the ladder and ended up getting through the window (without breaking it).

But the poor little girl was so traumatized (as was her mom) that she just hung out on my lap for quite a while.

Crap! This might be where I'm gonna be in trouble...Apparently Striker used to hide in closets and lock himself in places to traumatize his parents.

This is a good one. It reminds me when Raea was 2 and unlocked the front door and escaped during naptime while I was in the backyard. Some stranger found her and was knocking on all doors until she found her mommy.

I hate barriers.

Poor Sydney! I thought you were going to say the 1938 doorknob got her in the head, but this is almost worse!

Poor baby! Christian did the same thing when he was about her age and we had to take the hinges off of the door to get to him.

My poor Sydney....at least she didn't jump out of a two story window like her Aunt Becca....but I do feel sorry for her Mom and Dad too.
