Salumi or Salami?

I love Salami.....recently (thanks to Starbucks) I discovered that I also like Salumi. The difference? Salumi encompasses all of the following and more: Salami, prosciutto, salsiccia, finocchiona, pancetta.

I wasnt really pleased that the Salami (I love it remember) was described as this: It's a large (3-4 inches across) sausage made with ground pork and cubes of fat that are seasoned with garlic, salt, and spices, and stuffed into the pig's large intestine
