Disneyland At Christmas

The Holiday Season opened at Disneyland today and tonight the magic was awesome. We arrived just in time for the evening Christmas Parade, followed shortly by a visit with the Coelho family (it was too short but I had starving children), then the magic and wonder of the Snow falling on main street, a quick dinner at the Golden Horseshoe review, the "Believe" fireworks show and a quick trip back to the car. (No Rides tonight) On the way home I asked Sydney what the best part was (The parade, the snow or the fireworks) and she responded "They are all my favorite". Watching the wonder and excitement in her eyes is the best feeling in the world, this year I anticipate many more holiday evenings at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Martha Stewarts Latest Postcard

David handed me the Martha Stewart postcard below since he thought I would be interested in her holiday collection. Unfortunately, I was drawn immediately away from her books and straight to her hair. Her hair looks terrible on the front of the postcard but great on the back of it.

Might I add, this was a great blog submission. Nicely done!

Coffee Date

Sydney and I picked Elizabeth up and headed to Starbucks. It was a special outing for them because they never are anywhere without siblings and they both felt very big and important. They were so cute and when I declared it a "coffee date" Liz corrected me "Aunt Shi its a Chai Date". Indeed Elizabeth, indeed.

Saffron: It's Expensive, And Not That Great

So I spent $22~ on Saffron so I could make Chicken Scallopini with Saffron Cream Sauce. I was anxious to see what it would taste like since it is the most expensive spice I have purchased. Saffron are little red threads that are pulled out of a flower and are considered the "gold of spices"-LOL, this according to the bottle. Only 3 threads exist per flower which is why the price is so high.

As far as the Saffron, I wasn't a fan. The sauce was ok but nothing to write home about (well, I took some home-to my mom-so she could taste the Saffron, yeah nothing to visit home about)

Family Parking (Thats What I Am Talking About)

Westfield is no longer just looking out for pregnant women, families with small children now get special parking privileges.

I am glad that I fall into this category, we had the spot closest to the door tonight!

Quality of Friendship

Facebook has redefined the meaning of the word friendship. Dictionary.com's first definition of friend is: "a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard", but when chatting with Queen B earlier tonight we realized that we had really lowered the bar on our definition of friendship significantly.

We have established the following general thoughts/guidelines around "friends":

I don’t want to be friends with somebody I hate
If I don’t recognize your name you are out

If I recognize your name as someone I don’t know
If I don’t know how to pronounce your name

If I see you in person and don't recognize you as someone I know
If it is extremely unlikely that I will contact you for the rest of my life (optional)

Also note: Annoying statuses that occur during the friendship maintenance windows may put other friendships at risk

Minnie and Simba Clean Up Nice

Last week Rachel asked me how I clean the girls stuffed animals and I told her that I routinely through them in the washing machine. Baby Simba has spent a good portion of his life in there as he was Sydney's longtime favorite.

Today, I looked at Brooke's baby Minnie and decided that both her and Simba needed a good cleaning. In they went and out they came, after a trip through the drier they looked brand new.
