This week I showed these photos to Dora and Plankton and asked them about the owls. Here is how the conversation unfolded:
KT: "What is the significance of these owls".
Dora: "I don't know"
Plankton: "I don’t give a hoot"
Plankton: "It reminds me of CSI Las Vegas, you know because of the Who song"
Dora: "All I can think of is give a hoot don’t pollute"
KT: "You guys are way off....so what is sad about these owls"
Plankton: "Their ugly?"
KT: Laughs, "no"
Dora: "Nobody wanted them?"
KT: "Okay your starting to catch on….nobody wanted them, what else Plankton?"
Plankton: "Who gives a damn"
KT tells why Owls at the Goodwill are sad.
Plankton: "Oh….that is sad…."
Dora: "OMG

Or.....it could be from a girl whose dad bought her an owl on his way home from every business trip.
The amount of owls could represent many great and successful business trips.
Maybe then the girl grew up, and realized that she didn't need owls to be close to her dad, so she hugged her dad and got rid of the bunnies, I mean owls.
I still don't believe they belonged to a now deceased woman. Doesn't Goodwill place all like items together?? I don't think this is a "collection"...lol
I have an easier time buying Ruth anne's owl explanation.
Kim - you are so funny!
Ruth - you are so damn funny!
Poor dead lady!
When I saw the owls I remembered needing one at my first house. You put them on the roof and they are supposed to scare birds away from tapping on your roof. It didn't really work out so well so I know why there are so many owls at Goodwill.
RO! That is a great conversation.
Ruth Anne - LMAO
I'll go with Andria's explanation, it's the happiest. Well, not for the owls or the people whose houses they didn't work out at, but still.
My sister Esther's mother in law has a collection just like this. She would never say it out loud but I know that she is anxious to get that collection when she dies.
Listen to me people...
Half of the stuff in GOODWILL is from the houses of DEAD PEOPLE! The clothes... the crushed green velvet couch... the Jesus candles... all of it!
