Does anybody have a Roomba? There is something really appealing of having the house vacuumed with no effort on my part. Supposedly, these things work great but I would like to know if anyone has actually used one?
I mean, with adding diaper changing to my usual to do list how in the world will I have time to vacuum?

I have yet to get one, but I have heard great things about them. In my post "The Girls" about dog hair and what a mess it causes, Jenn Ann made the following comment:
"Get a Roomba KT! Totally worth it, especially if you get the scheduler."
I think I want one too KT. And if Jenn Ann likes it, it has got to be good!!
i am also interested in hearing first hand experiences. do you know they also have a scooba (for washing floors)!!?
:)
Kim you would be surprised at what you'll have time for once you work diaper-changes into the schedule! I think a Roomba would freak me out. I can't get into the pool if the vacuum is running in there!
I would also like to know if this works. I would love one if they work.
I've got one. I rarely use it...don't think I've used it in a year. It works ok, but in the amount of time I spend getting the trash/recycle bins, all the dining chairs & barstools into the hall; picking up all the kids toys/bean bags/papasan chairs to set up on the couch, just to clear off the floor to run it...I could've vacuumed and gotten ready for bed and gotten in the bed. I have to move out the dining chairs & barstools because he gets stuck under the legs' crossbars, he sits there beeping for you to come save him, eventually turns himself off. Also--if you have wrought iron tables with up-turned "feet," he can get snagged on there & can't get himself off. I don't want to sit on the couch and babysit my vacuum. I have the scheduler feature, but have never tried it. I would however LOVE to get the mopping Roomba!!
Roomba with a scheduler is good if there's not a lot of "things" on your floor. You might also be able to con David into "driving" the Roomba while sitting on the couch watching tv. It's sorta like a remote control car.
I like that Mr. Roomba will beep if he needs to be saved...I push his button and then get ready. If he beeps I go find him.
Bonus, the cat and dog think he's a toy and will chase him...as long as he doesn't follow them...then they freak.
The problem with the scheduler is that you have to set it. I moved Mr. Roomba upstairs to our master bathroom a few months ago since that seems to be the place that we shed the most...I've yet to set the scheduler.
What is this? I have never heard of it.
One of my friends has one, she says it is creepy.....:-)
