Two Towels For Sale in Malibu

Check out the picture below. The For Sale sign says "Bath Towels, $2.50". This man was in Malibu, with his wife selling TWO beach towels that were identified as bath towels. (No there were not additional towels in the bag, he had it open and there were none int there).

So I ask.....Who goes to MALIBU (The richest city in Southern California) to sell TWO towels to make FIVE bucks? The For Sale sign probably cost two bucks!

Weird. He doesn't look too destitute, either. That's a decent bike. Maybe it was a sociology experiment?!? He lost a bet?

I probably would have been tempted to purchase the towels at that price. Unless they were all sorta gross and sweaty.... Maybe he just keeps the sign and uses it every weekend and instead of schlepping the towels home and washing them, he just sells them at the beach....

Did the towels ever sell? I have been looking for weekend work to boost my economic situation. This could be a dream gig.

Geeez... and I thought I was the blonde here! Look at the picture people!!! He is at an event... one of the canopies say's "relay" on it. So he is being very crafty and going to Goodwill and buying towels for .50 and selling them at this relay for $2.50! This guy is a genius! I remember going to Malibu... but I can't tell you what I had to sell to get back home!!!

You can get towels at Goodwill for $0.50? That's amazing. I need to buy some for my housemate, so he'll stop using my guest towels.

If he was going to sell towels, couldn't he have AT LEAST made a nice display and had more than 2 towels? It looks like he raided the hall closet and grabbed the 2 towels he could part with!
