Prop 8 passed! Whether you were for it or against it, it passed. The people spoke. Why is it that so many on the left (not all) only approve of our Democratic Nation when the vote goes their way? Since the Presidential election I have heard over and over (Referring to Obama's victory) that "This was the first time in 8 years that the people were heard". Really???? Give me a break, the people spoke, Obama won. 4 years ago, the people spoke and George Bush won, 4 years before that, the people spoke and George Bush won, 4 years before that, the people spoke and Bill Clinton won. That's how it works!
In California this Prop 8 protesting is becoming really annoying. Today, the 101 freeway was shut down because of protesters, there was another large protest I saw in Pasadena, basically there are protesters everywhere. (Note pictures below). I'm sorry folks but the people voted "Yes" 52% to 47%-Whether you like it or not, prop 8 won.

Isn't that the truth?
And really... what are the protesters trying to accomplish? The election is over.
Some people only call it democracy when it goes their way.
When Prop 8 was announced I decided that was the day I was no longer going to be 'politically correct.' I'm starting to think that the proponents of Prop 8 should start holding celebratory marches down the same routes. I'd be happy to participate. kays
ps. Thank you Kim for the response to my email.
like kays' idea
maybe we should start protesting Obama's victory?
WELL SAID!
A similar prop also passed in AZ.
Isn't it interesting that when the popular vote does not support the minority view, the popular becomes the bad evil people? I don't claim to be an expert... but something is terribly wrong. It appears that we are just slowly chipping away at every moral value known to man. And every chip drags the world down further and further in the mud. I remember a day when Rob and Laura Petrie had separate twin beds on TV. Today you can see about 98% of a sex act on TV. And in-between the twin beds of yesterday and crap we see today, there were a group of people chipping away at the moral block of decency. And when we attempt to block these immoral acts from becoming allowed... we are the bad people. Jesus, please come soon!
Intersting topic...I didn't vote the way my sister wanted so she won't speak to me anymore....and deleted me from her facebook friends....PS: my mom got deleted too....my mom?
Hmmmm. With so much hate and violence in this country, why in the world would we want to stop two consenting adults from building a stable and loving life together? It's not a crime to love a person and just because you may be gay doesn't mean you"re not a tax paying citizen who deserves the same rights we (straight people) enjoy.
And by the way--protesting is another right we enjoy as Americans. So is freedom of speech and opinion. Something that bloggers and other writers exercise freely.
By virtue of you complaining and voicing your opinion about Prop. 8 and those who oppose it, you are exercising the same rights as the protesters--minus the sign.
Something to consider.
Thank you for those comments Anonymous person. They are so true.
