I will do a blog about that another night but suffice to say I enjoyed it. When my Facebook status said I was going scrap booking I was teased by Jenn, Sara and Courtney. With Sara's Facebook status changed to "Sara is constantly in awe of KT's transformation" and Courtney's comment "I never would have guessed the lady who doesn't carry a purse would go scrapbooking? hmmm?"
A few hours later I had the following conversation with Rachel:
Kim: There is such a problem with trunk space and strollers
Rachel: When I get a new car it will probably be a Honda Pilot
Kim: Well, you better watch out that has horrible trunk space and won't fit a stroller. I hate that about my car.
Rachel: Yeah, Tahoe's don't have room either.
Kim: I hate to say this, I can't believe I am saying it but I may have to get a mini-van.
Rachel: Oh no, you can't! Get a Suburban.
Kim: I hate big cars though but I am not the mini-van type
Rachel: I will NEVER get a mini-van
Kim: I will remind you of this. At 7:16 PM on 2/21/09 Rachel said she will NEVER get a mini-van
Rachel: (Laughs) Well, unless I am traveling and I have to rent one. That is the only way.
Kim: (Laughs)
Rachel: I just want to say for the record that I don't think there is anything wrong with driving a mini-van.
Kim: I will note that when I blog this
Rachel: Mom, will think I am a snob when she sees that
Kim: I will note that too

RO! I was definitely counting on the organized scrapbooking to become a post.
That conversation on mini-vans is definitely historic.
I was of the "will never drive a minivan" mind set years ago.. but now my hubby and I have a Honda Odyssey. It's awesome! So many gadgets and cubby holes and it has like 25 cupholders throughout. Give it a look!
I'm confused. We have a Honda Pilot. It has no trunk...and it has as much room (if not more than a mini-van). Are you sure you have the right vehicle in mind??
I am joining the other non-parents in my argument for the Pilot. The seats split, so you can fold down just one seat, seat 7 with a large stroller and still have adequate "trunk" space for a day trip. It was the reason we bought the car 2 years ago. I have since tested it's packing capabilities during a move, many Costco trips, and several excursions to Vegas with Striker's bowling equipment and friends. The seating is very roomy too! You can quote me as NEVER owning a minivan with the same criteria as Rachel. However, you may add the the collection of random Jenn Ann trivia that I took the test for my drivers license in a minivan. You are also now going to comment on how long this comment is ;)
Bianka's Odyssey is pretty cool for a minivan. I think my Pilot only has 11 or 12 cup holders.
I swore for 20 years that I would never drive a mini-van. If you have only 1-2 children, most can get by with a car or SUV, but adding the 3rd kid pretty much requires that extra room for a stroller. I have what they call a cross-over --a mix of a mini-van and SUV. I do like it overall, but there is not much room behind that 3rd row. I have to leave 1/2 of the back seat out to have more storage room.
A friend of mine drove a mini van and she only has one child. She said it was safer and lots of room for everything else.
Like I said, there is nothing wrong with minivans. Mom has the Odyssey and it's very nice. They just aren't for me. I will be drving a Surburban if I have more than 3 kids. LOL. This was a fun conversation last night with a lot of laughs.
I'm with Jenn and Rachel. Nothing wrong with minivans justnot for me. My siter has an explorer and its the same as a pilot, she fits her huge stroller with the third row up. The pilot and explorer are on top of our list for family suvs!
