Blogging From Cruising Altitude

I am currently on 1 of 4 Southwest planes that have Wi-Fi enabled. Totally Cool! This is the pilot phase and it is currently a free service. My critic is as follows:

System: It's a wireless based satellite network

Ease of Use: Much easier to enable than the Wi-Fi at work-thats for sure. I was up and running in 30 seconds.

The Sign On Screen: You only need to provide your first and last name. If you so desire you can also enter your Rapids Rewards number

Bandwidth: It's not bad. I am connecting pretty fast right now. They do prevent VOIP and video downloads.

Technical Support: Southwest offers the following disclaimer: Southwest gives you low fares and a comfortable flight but we can't provide technical support. Please call 866-SWA-INET after your flight to report any problems.

Nice! It figures that you, of all people, are on one of those 4 planes!

Thanks for the comment at altitude!

Now that I've seen it in action though....I think a few of your comments got lost in the atmosphere.

You know, you should proposition them that you will be happy to provide tech support while you're on the flight, and they should coordinate always getting you a plane with wi-fi :)
