San Francisco Day 1

Day one in San Francisco was the first of several busy days. We first stopped in at the Golden Gate bridge-the kids thought it was really cool but Sydney was not happy that it wasn't actually golden-I'm not sure I get that either. In Sausalito we ate next to the harbor at "Fish" and the food was really good.

Next stop were the old forts in the Golden Gate recreation area and then a hike to the Point Bonita lighthouse. That was a pretty good hike up but the girls did great. (More to come on that in the blog entitled Faline is missing). Two suspension bridges and beautiful views of coast made the hike well worth it.

After checking into the Hotel Union Station we headed over to the Stinking Rose which was a recommendation from my Uncle Dave. (There are two of them-one in Beverly Hills too). If you like garlic then this is the place for you. We had the roasted garlic appetizer and sizzing shrimp for an appetizer. Sydney had a cheese pizza, Brooke had a side of meatballs, David opted for the spaghetti and meatballs and I went for the garlic prime rib. Everything was fantastic but I smelled like garlic for days.

Love Sausalito

FYI: The Bridge is actually named for the Golden Gate Strait, the narrow entrance between the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay.
