Cubicles On The Move

I hear they are moving cubes around again in our Phoenix office. We make cube changes almost as often as we make organizational changes. I can't wait to see the new setup. The last time there was a cube change some poor soul received the cube below (the second to the worst cube in my opinion).

This cube is located in the main hallway (almost under the stairs and between the help desk and the break room) right next to the women's restroom. (That's the door on the left)

I Drove a PT Cruiser & It Was Terrible

This morning at 6:00AM I realized that I did not book my car rental for my trip to Sacramento today. I logged onto the company travel planner and there were NO National Cars available....no Enterprise, No Hertz, No Avis, No Budget. No Thrifty but there was a mid size available at Dollar. I booked it.

Upon arriving in Sacramento I visited the National Car booth just to see if I could get a car as an Executive member. They informed that I could but it would be $179.00 a day. Yeah, that isn't happening, I went over to Dollar. I filled out all the paperwork and they gave me the keys to spot 34. I was running really late at this point and when I got to spot 34, I saw a PT Cruiser. I almost hyperventilated! I did not have enough time to get back in line (the line was long) and make it to my meeting. So I broke down and not only rode in but drove the car I hate more than anything on the planet!

The car was terrible. Aaron and Tommy tried for 10 minutes to figure out how to open the trunk-We never figured it out. (Seriously?) It had this stupid handle above the glove compartment and on the gear selector it had this terrible ugly silver knob. I hated the car but most of all I hate that I can no longer say "I have never been in a PT Cruiser and I never will be"

Great New Blog

You must go read my friend Kays blog. Finding Kaysspleen For the record, she doesn't work with us and the topic is just a coincidence. What a story!

Out To Dinner With Sydney

This has the potential of a new photo collection. Before I begin let me advise that we clean up every speck before leaving the restaurant. So, Sydney has an eating problem. Basically, sometimes she wants to eat and sometimes she doesn't. When she doesn't she not only pushes my hands out of the way but she also likes to drop pieces within her reach. This will not last much longer as soon as we are clearly communicating (if you get my drift) this will stop.

For the record, I didn't give her that baby back, she snatched it off my plate.

California Fashion Mall in Alabama

Do the people in Birmingham really think that this is what Fashion Malls look like in California? Do they wish they were in California? Can't they at least fix the paint?

April Fools Day at SWA

Southwest airlines seriously knows how to take care of their employees. They rock, I wish I had the means to make these types of things happen for those in my organization. Check out what Southwest did by visiting their blog.

Why I Can't Have a Mini-Van

James: I don't understand what is so bad about having a mini-van
Kim: Nothing is bad about it, they are very good and even if I want one, I just can't have it.
James: Why?
Kim: Because driving a mini-van will officially transform me from Kim1Champ into Kim1Mom

and later........

James: (Looking at my portable GPS) I should get one of these for my car. Then whenever I buy a new car I can use it and won't have to get a built in one
Kim: Why not get a built in one? They are so much better!
James: Because I am James1Teenager

10 Miles From Birmingham

10 miles from Birmingham I got pulled over for speeding on the I-20. Here was the conversation:

Officer: Can I have your license and registration
Kim: Yes, here it is
Officer: I pulled you over because you were going 78 mph in a 60 mph zone
Kim: Yes, I just saw that but I thought the speed limit was 70
Officer: OK but you were still going 78
Kim: I was going too fast

And no, I didn't get off with a warning.

Poor Carolyn

Today at the Kennasaw Battlefield museum 5 year old Carolyn came up to me. She sounded a little bit upset and in a sad voice she whispered the following to me:

Miss Kim, I am going to stay with you because I NEVER get to learn anything with my family. My brothers just play, my dad doesn't care and my mom just reads the stuff to herself.

Blogging From Cruising Altitude

I am currently on 1 of 4 Southwest planes that have Wi-Fi enabled. Totally Cool! This is the pilot phase and it is currently a free service. My critic is as follows:

System: It's a wireless based satellite network

Ease of Use: Much easier to enable than the Wi-Fi at work-thats for sure. I was up and running in 30 seconds.

The Sign On Screen: You only need to provide your first and last name. If you so desire you can also enter your Rapids Rewards number

Bandwidth: It's not bad. I am connecting pretty fast right now. They do prevent VOIP and video downloads.

Technical Support: Southwest offers the following disclaimer: Southwest gives you low fares and a comfortable flight but we can't provide technical support. Please call 866-SWA-INET after your flight to report any problems.

How Many Of Me?

Several months ago my brother-in-law, Jason, shared with me the website How Many Of Me?

It is so cool, you can look up and see approximately how many of you there are in the United States.

Kimberly is the 59th most common first name (Who Knew?) 99.9% of them are female. The 10th most common last name is Thomas. Smith is the most common last name. David is the 7th most common first name. Sydney is the 1219th most common first name and there are 22,956 people with the first name of Sydney (22K, of course).

Now, it's not perfect, it is all done on averages. I tested my old friend Pietro Avolio. It says there are 1 or fewer people in the US with that name but the fact is I know two. Pietro and his father, Pietro.

For the record there are 2,399 people named "Kimberly Thomas" in the US but there are only 980 people named "Kim Thomas".

So how many are there of you?

    More Scrapbooking....

Yep, for those of you who didn't think I would like scrapbooking (including myself) you are wrong! I had a great time doing it today and I am looking forward to doing it again.

I will admit though, it is very easy because mom has done 98% of the hard stuff for me. I am intimidated about doing the backgrounds etc. Currently, I just have to fill in the pictures.
