How to survive a hotel fire

This article was featured on my google home page tonight. Note, I just saw it and I am preparing for bed. Normally, I never click on this stuff but tonight, as I sit at the Hilton, I click on it. (1) Bring a flashlight and (if possible) a portable smoke detector. (What type of person takes smoke detectors to hotels with them). I did not bring a flashlight either (uh oh)
(2) Get a room on a lower level. (Uh oh, again, I am on the 15th floor)
(3) Learn your escape route (nope, that didn't happen)
(4) Put your flashlight and keys in your shoes (no flashlight and I am not putting my keys in my shoes)
(5) Leave everything behind (I must take my Treo)
