Fish......

To me there is a clear difference between saying "I love fish" and "I love seafood". I love seafood....don't get me wrong, I do like fish too. For instance: I like Trout, Halibut, Tuna and almost anything if it's raw. Raw Salmon, Ahi Tuna, Yellowtail, mmmm. For the most part if it comes out of the ocean I'll eat it.

Normally when you tell people that "you like fish" they either respond that (1) I hate fish (2) I love fish (3) I like fish as long as it's not fishy. Number 3 is the most common response.

What makes a fish fishy?

If your fish smells fishy, it's not fresh. Don't eat it.

See these two ice chests? They were on the plane, smelled way too fishy. Chances are if your fish is being transported around in ice chests, it's fishy.

My advice, only order fish or seafood at nice restaurants. Any place else and your taking a gamble.

What fish do I hate? Catfish, Carp and lets not forget that old Sucker Fish. I went fishing once and caught a Sucker Fish, it was big, made my mom cook it, it was terrible, I wouldn't try it.

Ummm, I like fish if it isn't "fishy"...hehe. J/K To be honest, I actually hate most fish except Salmon. And I despise sushi except for California Rolls and Crunchy Rolls. So Answer #1 suits me best for the most part.

This whole thing sounds fishy to me. Do you ever eat 'cooked' fish? Believe it or not it taste marvelous.

"If your fish smells fishy, it's not fresh."

Wouldn't a freshly caught fish smell "fishy"?

I like fish but LOVE seafood! I am a #3, no fishy fish for me. The worst fish ever is scrod!

I love pretty much all seafood, fish, shellfish, sushi, etc. I agree that fishy fish is bad...stay away from it.

A comment for Andria: There is no fish called scrod. Being from Boston where the term is used often, I can tell you that it stands for "Smallest Catch Remaining On Dock". It could be any fish, but is usually Cod or Haddock.

Those coolers look very familiar. I believe I saw them in the airport on Monday AM? Hmmmm.. Something is fishy.

LOL, Jennann, I was thinking the same thing when I posted that comment, "ah, man, I can't believe I'm posting contradictingly to what jennann posted!"

Ann-thank you sooo much for the insight. My hubby is from Boston and we were there this June. That's where I had "scrod" and whatever was served to me was disgusting. Now I have no idea what that dumb fish really was that I hated!

The only seafood I eat is from the Red Lobster. We usually go there once every couple of months since we have to drive into Elkhart or Mishawaka. I usually get the Admirals Feast. It is really good.

I am terribly disturbed by this picture. (vomiting in the background.)

What is disturbing to me is where these people fished. Most reputable fishing locations have a fish processor that will clean, vacuum pack, freeze and ship your catch at arrive when you have returned from your trip.

Something else that concerns me is they used tape to seal the coolers. What happens if the coolers are mishandled and they open, spilling the contents all over your luggage?

As a general rule I do not like cooked fish, especially cooked conservative sushi.

Another piece of advice: Never order fish on a Sunday!!!
