First, in addition to Kat Von D there was another KAT featured on the show. Two KAT's, interesting, REM always calls me KAT. Second, Kat Von D surprised one of her best friends by having her face tattooed onto her thigh. On this show people often get portrait tattoos and in fact, that is Kat Von D's speciality. I can't imagine getting someones face tattooed onto my body. This is a truly unbelievable sign of friendship. Here is a photo of the tattoo and I credit three things for allowing me to take this photo: (1) My Blackberry Pearl, (2) My Tivo, (3) My Huge TV
Lastly, to answer everyone's big question: I have decided that for now that I am not getting a tattoo. I may change my mind but for now it is on hold indefinitely.

You got permanent eyeliner, doesn't that sort of count? I'm starting to think I should start watching that show...everyone keeps talking about it and if it's on your blog it must be cool!
Kim... you have way too much time on your hands. Please quit watching these shows that are doing nothing for you. They are not educational or informative in any way. Don't you feel like you wasted part of your life after watching these shows? What can you take away from these shows that you can use again in your life? Join a church group, volunteer time at a homeless shelter, help abused women and children, do something that you can hold in your heart and be proud of. I just care about you and think about the great things you can be doing... instead of learning about the guy who cheated on the tattoo girl.
Another one of Kat's specialities is naked ladies. A friend at work is thinking about getting one, and it's a girl!
Or like the girl on rock of love, her first tattoo was Brett's name on her neck.
People, think about a tattoo first.
Kat is amazing. And that is Pixie, right? She is too cute. I can't believe I missed it last night. That's what I get for not sleeping on the couch :)
I can't wait to see some of these tatooed wonders when they are 80 yrs old. And I'm talking about the women. YUCK!
I was really bored a few weeks ago and they were having a Miami Ink marathon. I had never watched the show before but I have heard many of people talk about it. I have to say it is very addicting. I really like the show. Those tattoo artists are really amazing. I have not watched LA Ink yet but I am sure there will be a marathon soon so I can catch up. Jenn- I think you should start watching.
Kim, you should definitely put the tatoo on hold if you're not sure. It is expensive and painful to have them removed, so you really need to be sure it's what you want. I have 3 and have thought them all out, and I love them!
Well, inking is a very personal decision, so it's not my place to comment on what others do. But personally I can't think of anything I'd like as part of my body...for the rest of my life! In the words of Jimmy Buffett, "...it's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling."
I seem to remember someone being very critical of another someone's tattoo. I could have sworn one of them was you.
I shudder at the thought of getting a tattoo
I had a Tatoo of you on my back because I thought I would work for you forever, then you traded me away. What am I going to do now!
