To Mail or Not to Mail

Back in late September, at work the Operations group went through a bit of a reorganization. I sat down and wrote a personalized note to everyone in my organization that was affected. I thought it was nice thing to do but I didn't realize until late December that none of them were mailed. They all had stamps but somehow didn't make it to the post office.

Since then I have had this dilemma, do I mail them or not? It is so late.....I could stamp them with a note that said, "this was written in September and not mailed" but at this point would everyone just think I am crazy or be annoyed rather than think it's a nice gesture? What do ya'll think?

Mail as is. They don't need an explanation.

Who knows why it was delayed, but maybe a certain individual needs it now (and not then). You could save someone's day.

No good deed goes unnoticed.

Recycle them - or rewrite new ones. It's Been Too Long! If you are a frugal person save the stamps and use them for something else. Ack -- I'm uncomfortable voting against ruth anne! But as a victim of 1 horrific layoff, I can't in good conscience tell you to send them now.

I vote for sending them and blaming the post office for losing them ;)

I agree with Q-b. Mail them. Or make your own personalized stamp that says 'lost mail' then send them after stamping the envelopes. Don't forget the post ofc. lost Dale so what's a few envelopes?kays

Definitely mail them...how often does anyone get anything handwritten?

I had dinner tonight with one of the would be receipients and he voted against mailing.

I can't beleive you are actually wasting your time thinking about this. Throw them away... and let the lost postage be a lesson to you to be less forgetful. Or use a steam shark to remove the postage then throw them away. Don't mail them... freak.

I'm torn...my initial thought was mail them as is. But after reading the other posts, I'm not sure. Maybe a note on the outside saying "sorry this is so late"

I say mail them. Why not? Late or not late...it doesn't matter...like Queen said, blame it on the post office!

Party lines are split on this one.....

I like Lois's suggestion that maybe I rewrite new ones.

The thing that is funny about blaming the post office is half the people these were written to read the blog (including Tina Marie-when I get home yours is going in the trash)

Discard or write new ;O

Can you blame Sydney for hiding them under her bed or something? Isn't that one of the joys of motherhood is to have someone to pawn blame off on? Is it too early for that still? ;)

I say mail them! For you to write an individual letter to each person tells how thoughtful and kind you are. MAIL THEM! Don't delay another day.

Technically the parties are not split=more say definitely mail them. However it seems you've heard from at least two sources affected by this and both say don't send them so.........

Mail them. If you really feel that badly, just include a Swedish Fish in each one. That way the recipient won't even think about when it was mailed.

Go ahead and throw it in the trash... like my bonus... like my raises... I am getting used to it.
