Junior Crisp Burritos
My favorite fast food item in high school was from Carls Jr and it (or they) was called Junior Crisp Burritos. Carl's stopped selling them in the early 90's and I have missed them ever since! They came in a pack of 3 or 5 and were soooooo very good. I could have lived off em. Last week I noticed that Carl's Jr was advertising "Crisp Burritos" and they looked the same! I was so excited to try them. The other day I gave Andrew my ATM card and told him to go get them (He 
agreed as long as I bought him lunch too) . Andrew came back, I took a great big bite of the first one and........ I said to mom and Andrew, "If this was the taste why did I like them so much?" I can't tell you if it is the same taste or not but if it is, it's no longer a food I can't live without.Look at that, two fast food posts in a row......

It could go either way...they changed them or your tastes buds changed.

I HATE when something I loved as a kid and couldn't get enough of turns out to be completely icky as an adult.

All grown up, they taste like crap :(
or both - the 'recipe' could be different and your taste for them has changed. back then, you had never even tasted gatorade or deviled eggs!

We used to drive through McDonald's after practice and get 33 cent hamburgers. Life was good! (And metabolism was still high!)
No your taste buds didn't grow up. Carl's Jr. is simply trying to pull a fast one here. I'm sure they've had alot of requests over the years to bring back those classic junior crisp burritos. I guess they think they can just make something that looks and sounds similar and no one will notice the taste or texture at all. I had them today and I'm pretty disappointed. My guess is the original burritos were made by some small company under contract and the contract didn't get renewed. Carl's must not have ever had the recipe to recreate them. I always wondered why they vanished from the menu and hoped they would come back....as of yet, they still aren't back.
