Personalized License Plates

Today on our way back from Sequoia National Park (We had a great time, BTW) I was heading up the grapevine and I started thinking about one of my trips back from Bakersfield Memorial a few months ago. It had been a good day in Bakersfield, I went up, had two meetings, took the associates out for a steak lunch (which was excellent) and then was heading back to Pasadena.

So thank goodness I was having a great work day (It's always great to see the Bakersfield crew) because I got stuck behind this car with the license plate KWT URJB! I had my handy little Treo with me so I snapped a shot of the car and the license plate. Anyway, I couldn't get away from the car, I would change lanes and then she would change lanes. No matter what I did I could not get around her and I followed the car for about 80 miles. It was like a subliminal message telling me to quit my job. Luckily for my mortgage I did not succumb to the pressure. But I did start thinking about getting a personalized license plate.

I have been wanting a personalized plate for awhile but I haven't been able to either come up with something clever enough or it is already taken. Of course I would want "Champ" but apparently someone in California already has that. Plus that would be a bit....oh what's the word.....pretentious. (Haven't we talked about that already)

If I ever find a personalized plate that works for me (and that I don't mind shelling out the initial 90 bucks plus 70 for each additional year) I will go with either the Palm Tree/Beach or the Yosemite plate. All the options are available on the California DMV site. https://vrir.dmv.ca.gov/ipp/PerLicensePlateServlet It is kind of fun to poke around at whats available and whats not. You pick a plate and then test out any personalization on it.

I see this the same way as becoming a lounge singer, don't quit your day job......

There was a Seinfeld reference a few days ago so here is a personalized plate courtesy of Seinfeld: Do you remember when Kramer received the ASSMAN plates that were supposed to go to a proctologist?

With the backlash that I have received with the original comment that I made, I feel that I must reply again. I will plea temporary insanity. Or the Fifth amendment. It was a compliment. Nothing more, nothing less . It must have been the pills that I took (yellow and brown pills). Could it have been Debbie? Or Alice. Does Alice live here anymore?

Some ideas fro a plate:

SCOOP
CHUCK
BLAHBLAHBLAHNERFBLAHTOE (to many letters I know but you get it)
SQUID
BEANS

Let me know you use one of these.

someone else must have had the same thought as me, so i'll go ahead and say it. if you are going to drive a car with a license plate that says “KWTURJB”, wouldn’t it be more inspirational if you are driving something like an astin martin or a ferrari?? (no offense to any honda drivers.)

:)
