While watching the news for the Pope's trip to the United States I noticed the titles of some of the priests they were interviewing. The first one I saw was "Very Reverend", the next one was "Most Reverend". I decided this was worth a Wikipedia look up. These are some of various types of Reverends I found:
Angelican Churches:
*Deacons are referred to as "The Reverened Deacons"
*Priests are referred to as "The Reverened Father"
*Deans are reffered to as "The Very Reverened"
*Absesses and Bishops are reffered to as "The Right Reverened"
*Archbisops are reffered to as "The Most Reverened"
Catholic Churches:
*Deacons are referred to as "The Reverened Mister"
*Priests are referred to as "The Reverened Father"
*Priests with jurisdiction above pastors are referred to as "The Very Reverened"
*Absesses of Convents are reffered to as "Reverened Mother" or "Mother Superior"
*Bishops and Archbisops are reffered to as "The Most Reverened"
Protestant Churches:
*Typically use the term of Pastor rather than Reverened

Interesting...
Hmmmm, good to know.
Who knew!
I think I will call you Kim Reverend Possible
I think Jane meant: Reverend Kim Possible! LOL!
I'll call anybody the Most Reverend of anything they want if they'll just get this kid potty trained for me...I'll even pay you most reverently.
the reason they came up with the alternate titles/nicknames(deacons, priests, deans) is probably because it got too confusing to keep all the reverends straight! it must have been like living in george foreman's house! (aren't all his sons named "george" - and he uses nicknames to refer to each one??)
:)
Thanks for the education.
This stupid blog was in my dream last night.
I was able to correct two old ladies on an airplane. When I was done, you were the stewardess.
Can I please just have a normal dream once in a while?
