Well, It's The 4th (A PG Update)

Sydney's due date has come and gone......and no, she has not arrived.

Here are the results of the "How much will Sydney weigh" poll:

6.0-6.5 lbs- 7 Votes or 18%
6.5-7.0 lbs- 11 Votes or 28%
7.0-7.5 lbs- 15 Votes or 39%
Over 7.5 lbs- 5 Votes or 13%

I went to the doctor yesterday and he basically said that she is not ready to come out. He also said that the shape of my pelvis (apparently, it's narrow-who knew?) will make it more difficult to get her out......nice. So, he has decided that we should wait until next Wednesday (the 9th) and see what type of progress has been made. (I didn't get the feeling that he had high expectations that alot of progress would be made but he wanted to "try") If not much progress has been made we have been scheduled for a c-section on Thursday, (the 10th) at 5:30PM.

BTW: There is a new pg poll.

P.S.: I am dying to know who in FSO guessed closest to 5:30PM on Thursday the 10th.

Woo-hooo! According to everyone I know who have had both c-sections and natural births prefer c-sections! Congrats!

BTW - No news from Sam yet...they started her on pitocin around 6:00 p.m. last night.

well, I wouldn't completely give up on a vaginal birth. Although you should prime your body now.

If you do have a section, bring gum to chew after. You can't eat until you pass gas, and the gum encourages the digestion process. And stand up 6 hours after your delivery. You may feel like you are being tortured, but you will heal faster.

(If this is Sam's first, she will probably have a section, too.)

KT, per our conversation the other day, this c-section may in fact be a mega blessing in disguise??!!

Well, I admit, I'm upset. I thought we talked about the fact that if 3/22 wasn't the day for you that 4/4 was the alternate, with it being 22 doubled and all.

If you can't get this project of yours done today, I'm going to have to require a change request. Then, you'll have to go through the estimation meeting all over again!

Wow, Ruth Anne, we are so blessed to know you for your amazing amounts of wisdom. You totally blow me away!

A c-section is still surgery. When is surgery the better alternative if it can be avoided?

I'm thinking of you and praying for you every night, Kim. I hope you are able to deliver vaginally if possible. C-sections are major surgery and your mobility is really limited afterwards. But if it is the best thing to do, by all means you need it. Bless you and your little family, my friend!

Well, I've had both. 2 vaginal with epidurals first, c-section last....and by last I also mean that if I'd had a c-section first, it would've been my last and only. But like Ann said, most people before the c-section, so maybe it's just me.

Trying to be delicate without being nosy here: sex (if you are allowed to) is a great inducer!

once again, how happy are we that we know Ruth Anne?

You never know. It will all work out in the end. I know you have probably heard this before but after the baby is here, your memory will start to change. You remember back to the birth and you start thinking, wow, that wasn't so bad.
